Can I use regular banana for turon recipe?

Yes, you can absolutely use regular bananas for turon!

Turon is a beloved Filipino snack.

While the saba bananas (cardaba bananas) are traditional choice for this delicious classic snack because they have slightly tangy flavor, but regular bananas would just do fine.

Just be sure to use bananas that are ripe but still firm. If they are too soft they will turn mushy when fried.

Can you air fry turon?

You can technically air fry turon, but it’s tricky and the result won’t be quite the same as deep-fried.

Air fryers excel at crispy textures, which of course turon needs.

But there is a catch!

The sugar in the wrapper can caramelize too quickly in an air fryer, potentially burning before the banana inside is cooked.

Deep frying allows for even cooking all around.

Air fryers might leave you with unevenly cooked turon they can be crispy on the outside but mushy in the middle.

If you are going to try Turon recipe with air fryer please use smaller rolls because they can get cooked fast.

Brush them lightly with brush and put them in air fryer but keep the temperature low at first.

Can Turon make you fat?

Moderation is good.

Banana itself has tendency to make you fat.

It is nutritious it has high sugar content.

They sugar is added in the coating as well that can also be a cause of fat gain.

It also absorbs oil during cooking because it is deep fried.

As you know excess of everything is bad so, enjoy this amazing snack in moderation.

I know turon recipe is so easy to try but please look at your diet.

Nothing to worry about consuming it once or twice a week but not too much.

Can you freeze uncooked turon?

Yes, you can freeze uncooked turon.

Just prepare them like I have explained in my turon recipe.

Wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container.

This helps prevent freezer burn and keeps them fresh.

What is Turon made of?

Turon is made of very simple ingredients.

Turon recipe contains saba bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon powder, and spring roll wrappers.

Saba bananas are specific type of bananas commonly used in Filipino cooking but you can also use regular bananas.
