No, I am talking about the kind of obsession where you find yourself walking into Starbucks just for a cake pop, even if you are not actually craving coffee.

The only problem?

They are expensive! Like, seriously expensive.

I bought four cake pops and my wallet was practically crying.

Plus sometimes you just want that specific flavor that is only available for a limited time, and it’s gone before you know it.

Talk about the sugar fueled heartbreak!

So, what’s a cake pop-loving girl to do? DIY, of course!

We are going to dive in the world of homemade cake pops.

You can create whichever flavor you like. Pumpkin spice or peppermint mocha any flavor you love.

I will be sharing all my tips and tricks for making cake pops that are just as good as those you find at Starbucks if not better than those.

Starbucks Cake Pop Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of your favorite cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp of instant coffee (optional)
  • 1 bag (12 0z) candy melts
  • Sprinkles
  • Lollipop sticks

Starbucks cake pops: how to make?

Follow the instructions on cake mix box to bake a cake and let it cool completely.

Crumble the cooled cake in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl cream together softened butter, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually add milk and vanilla extract while beating until it is smooth. Also mix the instant coffee if you love coffee and need a coffee kick.

Mix the crumbled cake and frosting together until they are well combined.

The mixture should be moist and moldable.

You need to add more milk or frosting if is too dry.

Now roll the mixture into 1 inch balls and insert the lollipop sticks halfway. Make sure it is secure.

Melt the candy melts according to the instructions given on the package.

Dip each ball in candy melt and make sure the entire ball is coated.

Place the dipped cake pops on parchment lined baking sheet or wax paper an allow them to cool completely.

This will help to set the coating firmly.
